At Age Concern Wellington Region, we enjoy partnering with many different organisations around the Region. Recently, we were pleased to be able to offer all our wonderful volunteers and Companion Services clients an opportunity to attend the Orpheus Choir concert on 24 August at a discounted price. The Orpheus Choir offered all our volunteers a 50% discount on the ticket price, and free tickets for seniors matched with a volunteer in our Visiting, Phone Friend or Walking Services.
Some of our volunteers and clients wrote to let us know about the event:
Thanks to Age Concern Wellington and the Orpheus Choir, we all had a lovely time at the Michael Fowler Centre on Saturday evening listening to the wonderful Orpheus Choir accompanied by Orchestra Wellington. They performed a creative interpretation of Joseph Haydn’s “The Creation” which even included dancers from Footnote Dance Company. It really was a brilliant collaboration of Wellington Artists. I was so gratefully to have been able to take my 87-year-old mum alongside Jackie who is part of Age Concern’s Companion Walking Service. Both seniors thoroughly enjoyed their evening… As Jackie said in the car driving home, “It is just so nice to have the opportunity to go out!”
We even got to meet Matt Stein (trumpet) for a chat after the show. So generous and thoughtful of the Orpheus Choir to offer our Age Concern volunteers a big discount on their tickets, and the option to bring their Age Concern senior client to the concert for free. Thank You!
